Now that's a difficult one. Especially since I can't really compare myself with Asian drama heroines, who are mostly very positive, bubbly and hard-working - something which is totally not me. I would have to say that there hasn't really been a drama character that has all of my main characteristics. I have a lot of traits that contradict itself, so it's kinda hard to find a character that is filled with so many contradictions like myself. But let's just say that I am a combination of...
I like to browse Youtube for new drama fanvids from time to time. And some time ago I stumbled upon StupidApples Youtube channel, where I found this awesomely funny video series called 'What's on TV'. It's a collaboration between different dramavid creators and it pokes harmless fun at Asian dramas. The concept, as written down by StupidApples herself, is zapping through TV channels. My favourite segments are from The King 2 Hearts (Seung Gi's hilarious The King's speech) and Nice Guy.
I decided to include all of the existing videos from this series under this post. So basically today's Video of the Day is going to be the Videos of the Day. Part 4 is also going to be out in a few days time, so I'll be updating this post later on. Enjoy the funnies!
YOUR LEAST FAVOURITE MALE CHARACTER IN AN ASIAN DRAMA
Hmm...this challenge has made me realize that it is easier to name ultimate favourites than to point out the worst of the worst. But after some thinking, I realized that while I've had many male characters that I dislike, there have been only few that really got on my nerves.
Now although Lee Hyo Ri is one of the most popular Korean female artists, I haven't really acquainted myself with her music. But conveniently for me, she just made her long-awaited comeback with her new album Monochrome and the sexy and stylish "Miss Korea", which I immediately loved. Not only is the song really good, but it also has very thought-provoking lyrics. The song was self-composed and the lyrics were written by Lee Hyo Ri herself.
Okay, so I am back to making lists. Sorry, if you were expecting me to give one single answer but by now you should know that it ain't gonna happen. I am too indecisive to just pick one character. I might even wanna update this list from time to time to add new ones. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Wow, so this is something new for Between Wor(L)ds. It was very surprising for me to receive a message from the lovely fellow blogger Chunkeemonkeeato that she nominated my blog for the Liebster Award. Thank you!
To be honest, I've never been nominated for something like this before and I'm not even familiar how these work. But apparently the Liebster award is a chain letter of sorts to promote up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. And the word 'Liebster' is German for sweetheart. Aw.
I love Jo Jung Suk. And I ADORE his singing voice. I don't know what song he is singing in this clip or even what he is roughly singing about, but I love it. It's such a shame that every time I hear him sing something, I cannot download a full version of it anywhere. Why? Please, Jo Jung Suk, just release an album already. You have such a beautiful voice, it is selfish of you to not share it with us.
Favourite drama OST song or favourite drama OST as a whole? In any case this is going to take a while since I have so many favourites. I guess I'll do it this way: first I'll list some of my favourite Asian drama OSTs as whole and then just a random list of my favourite songs from dramas. I've actually wanted to do a list like this many times before, but the thought of having to single out my ultimate favorites has been too overwhelming. So don't take this as a conclusive list, especially because my favourites keep changing. But I tried to do my best for the sake of this challenge. I have to warn you though, this is going to be a loooong post.
I am ashamed of myself. I have never really listened to 2PM's music. I know "Heartbeat", I know "Again & Again", I know "Hands Up", but I have never really listened to these songs. The only song that I have downloaded from them is "Tik Tok", otherwise I just watch their music videos for their dancing. And let's not kid myself, I sometimes also just like to watch handsome guys in music videos, no matter the music.
But now I am going a bit gaga over them because their comeback songs "Come Back When You Hear This Song" and "All Day I Think of You/A.D.T.O.Y." from their 3rd album Grownare totally to my taste.
Lee Hyo Ri, who just made her long-awaited musical comeback with "Miss Korea", is also featured in May's Vogue and 1st Look. In Vogue she is dressed as a show girl in a circus-themed photoshoot. In 1st Look, the way she is styled contrasts delicate flowers in her hair with fierce make-up and sexy clothing.
Good question. Actually I don't cry a lot in real life, in that sense I am kind of a reserved person. So you can conclude that I don't really get very emotional when watching dramas, I may feel happy when the OTP gets together and feel sad when someone dies, but I very very rarely actually cry because of it. But yes, there have been a couple of very special series that I specifically remember to have gotten me to shed tears. And by crying I mean cry, like real tears.
I simply cannot give this one just a single answer, so I'm going to do a small list again and this time of my favourite couples in Asian dramas.
Okay, so after two relatively easy posts we've suddenly come to a really tough one. To answer this question I had to search out my big ol' drama list containing pretty much every drama I've ever watched. But as I was browsing through it, I realized that I have never really forced myself to watch dramas that I hate. So instead of one single 'the worst drama I've seen' I'm just gonna give you a small brief list of dramas that I think are just bad.
Oh and don't think that the fact that this list only contains Korean dramas means anything. It's just because I've seen much much more K-dramas than TW/J-dramas. There have also been very bad Japanese and Taiwanese shows, but I've dropped them immediately and so I can't really vouch for them in the same way.
I can once again say that I have actually already answered this question under my Currently Watching page. But since I want to do this challenge right and not skip any questions, I'm still gonna discuss these dramas here as well.
I've been wanting to do this 30 Day Asian Drama Challenge for quite some time, but haven't gotten around to it. But as I saw NeeNee over at Asian Addicts Anonymous doing this challenge as well, I thought there wouldn't be a better time than now. Also, there are several versions of this challenge circulating around the Internet, so don't be confused if you've seen other people doing it with different questions. I myself just picked the version I liked the most.
Two young talented stars, singer Lee Hi and actress Kim So Hyun, show just how fun it is to be a girl as they are featured in two pretty spring pictorials. While beautiful and princess-like Kim So Hyun takes on a romantic pictorial for Céci Campus, Lee Hi tries on a series of different funky costumes in a hot-pink-coloured photoshoot for Vogue Girl.
Miss A's Jia is rockin' pink in Nailholic's May issue, wearing quirky designs with attitude. Jia is also featured in the latest issue of Céci, where she gets to be behind the scenes of a (fake) fashion week event.
In the recent issues of Cosmopolitan, Yoo In Na is gorgeous yet down to earth, Kim Ha Neul enjoys the weather of Bali, and Jung Gyu Woon is his goofy self. Plus, we get to see a bit more of In Na, dressed in denim, in last month's issue of InStyle.
4minute girls just made a long-awaited comeback with the new single "What's Your Name" and are also featured in a series of pictorials.Hyuna models for Pop's S/S 2013 collection andGa Yoon takes on a solo photoshoot for Oh Boy!. Then Ga Yoon and Hyuna wear shades and summer clothing in InStyle. Finally, all of the members come together for a minimalistic black 'n white photoshoot for 1st Look.
Park Shin Hye is graceful in a pictorial for SURE, models Jambangee's summer collection with Lee Jong Suk, and is dressed formally as she appears in a photoshoot for Elle with her One Perfect Day movie co-star Yoon Kye Sang and the director Kim Ji Woon.
