After all these Melody of Lyrics posts about love songs, I decided that today I have to do one on friendship. So for this post I chose Park Bom's solo single "You and I", which I've liked ever since it was covered by the cast of the drama What's Up?. The songwas released in 2009, gained a lot of popularity and was ultimately chosen as Best Digital Single at 2010 MAMA's. Though the music video is more about romance, the lyrics describe a close bond between two people who aren't necessarily lovers.
Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the first awards event here in Between Wor(L)ds - The Between Wor(L)ds Drama Awards 2012. It is an event meant to appreciate those crazy things about Korean dramas that often go unnoticed, like the best crying face or the worst couple of the year. This is where we get to point out the highlights and the...um...lowlights? of the drama year 2012. So without any further ado...
Warning: May contain some spoilers for dramas that aired in 2012!
January's Elle Korea is filled with gorgeous pictorials of actresses Yoon Seung Ah, Han Hyo Joo, Park Min Young and Song Hye Kyo. While Yoon Seung Ah and Han Hyo Joo experiment with edgy brightly coloured hair, Park Min Young and Song Hye Kyo look simply breathtaking in their romantic photoshoots.
The drama year 2012 has finally closed in and every Asian drama blogger out there is probably measuring the quality of the past year's dramas in their own year end reviews. I am writing a year end review for the first time. Overall, I think 2012 was a pretty good drama year. For me at least. I watched three dramas that made into my all-time favourites list and managed to avoid most of the bad dramas. And there were several other gems that made me very happy. My only regret is that I spent very little time watching Taiwanese and Japanese shows. It was hard to find J/TW-dramas that really interested me. And since new promising K-dramas kept on coming, I just had no time to spare for others. Better luck next year, I hope.
First of all, sorry for not posting this on a Friday like I always do, but since I wasn't able to use a computer yesterday and I don't want to skip this entirely either, I'm gonna post it today.
Lee Seung Gi is one of the most loved young male ballad singers in Korea and though I'm more familiar with his acting and variety works I do know a couple of his songs. "Because You're My Woman" is Seung Gi's debut song from his first album "The Dream Of A Moth" (2004), the ballad that pretty much caused the noona-romance madness we know today. The song is full of raw emotion and has a very lovely music video to top it.
I'm posting this week's Melody of Lyrics rather late since I've been quite busy these days. Anyways, today I chose a song by a Taiwanese singer Cheer Chen, also known as Chen Chi Chen. The song is "The Meaning of Travel"(A Fabulous Adventure, 2005), which I know only thanks to the film Miao Miao that I reviewed some time back. The lyrics are written by Cheer Chen herself.
Time for another Epik High post for the Melody of Lyrics series. I just can't help it because I truly love pretty much all the song lyrics from Epik High. Today I chose "Fan", which was released in 2007 on their "Remapping The Human Soul" album. It is one of my favourite songs from them and I also love the creepy music video.
