So I guess I can forgive JB and Jr for the disaster that was Dream High 2. I have to be honest, I kinda hated JB in Dream High 2, though I can realize it wasn't entirely his fault - the script sucked. And Jr didn't leave a particular impression on me either. However, I think I'll have to reassess them now as they are making a debut with the cool tune "Bounce".
2PM's Junho and Taecyeon are looking handsome and showing off their muscles for Cosmopolitan's June issue. While Taecyeon is portraying Barbie's boyfriend Ken, Junho takes the role of a flirtatious lover. And, of course, the boys are very good-looking in army/navy-themed uniforms.
Actresses Jung Ryeo Won and Bae Doo Na are having a good time posing quirkily in this recent NYLONphotoshoot. It's nice to see that funny/spunky side of Bae Doo Na as she is doing silly poses and blowing bubble gum. But aren't those red boots on Jung Ryeo Won looking awfully big for her feet?
May's issue ofCéci brings us a pictorial featuring Park Shin Hye, Park Se Young and Kim Jung Hwa. This fashion shoot is all about flowers and lace, making the girls look feminine and pretty. I have to say that I really like the setting and the atmoshpere of Céci pictorials overall and this shoot once again affirms it.
Ai Otsuka is definitely one of Japanese best-known pop-artists. She composes, co-produces and writes lyrics for her songs and does it all very successfully. In 2005 she released her song "Planetarium", which is without a doubt one of my favourite songs among Japanese drama OSTs. It was featured in the hit-drama Hana Yori Dango and thus became very popular.
"Planetarium" is a very beautiful ballad, with soft and unique melody and delicate vocals. Ai Otsuka has released many other emotional ballads, but I think I like this one the most. It is actually quite a long song, about 5 minutes and 10 seconds, but there is also a shorter version that is about 3 minutes long (though I personally prefer the long one).
Girls Generation aka SNSD has now released a single "Twinkle" for their new subgroup Taetiseo. The members of Taetiseo are Seohyun, Taeyeon and Tiffany.
Official photos for the single are more bold in colours than I would have expected from SNSD girls. The styling of the girls kinda reminds me of Harajuku fashion as they look like anime characters. I'm all for colours and totally diggin' this concept, though the music video itself was toned down and more to SNSD's usual style. Still, it is nice to see the girls try something different, even if it is only for a photoshoot.
Vibrant colours and beautiful Han Hyo Joo make for an awesome fashionshoot for VIKI's 2012 Summer Collection. The fashion is so breezy and summery, and looks so good on Hyo Joo. I love the make-up on her, it's pretty and colorful but not heavy. Also, doesn't she look tall in these pictures, I wonder how tall is she in reality?
I usually don't follow boy groups as much as I do girl groups. My one love has always been Big Bang, but other boy groups are not really to my taste. Yet I am blown away by B.A.P, the new group that debuted this year with their single "Warrior". Though I didn't love the song itself, I loved the concept and the power that B.A.P had. Now they are back again with their new song "Power" and I'm loving them even more.
The song bares some similarities with "Warrior" as they both are very intense, powerful and aggressive. The rap sequences in "Power" by Zelo and Bang Yong Guk are as awesome as they were in "Warrior", but the vocals are better and more fitting in this song. The lyrics are about taking control and fighting against the world of today that only values the power of money. I do like the lyrics, but I am lost on the random English scattered around. "Everybody say hate you, one more say, hate you" makes me wonder who exactly they are hating and "Bomb, bomb, follow me" seems a bit weird also. Otherwise it's a pretty cool song.
